Issa M. Al Mohannadi - Chair
Engineer Issa M. Al Mohannadi is Chief Executive Officer of Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation. Besides leading one of the world’s most exciting and progressive real estate companies, Eng Al Mohannadi occupies a number of distinguished posts with public and private entities in Qatar.
He is the founder and chairperson of the Qatar Green Building Council, which actively promotes sustainability in the local construction industry as it works towards formal membership of the World Green Building Council.
He also sits on the board of a number of leading private businesses, as well as serving in a civic capacity as a board member for a number of social and educational institutions in Qatar.
Eng Al Mohannadi earned his Bachelor’s degree in natural gas engineering from Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas. He gained his Master’s certification in project management from George Washington University, in Washington D.C.
Prior to entering the real estate industry, Eng Al Mohannadi held senior management roles with a number of multinational companies in the energy sector, including ExxonMobil, Snamprogetti, Aker Kvaerner, Air Liquide, and Chiyoda.
Eng Al Mohannadi was an influential figure at Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company, where he drove key initiatives such as the Ras Laffan Helium Project, the LNG Venture Terminal Business Group, and the RasGas Capital Projects Department.
Eng Al Mohannadi has received numerous plaudits for his contribution to Qatar’s rapidly growing business community, including the title of Property Development CEO of the Year at the 7th Middle East CEO of the Year Awards, organized by the Middle East Institute of Excellence in 2010.
Mrs. Rasha K. Al-Sulaiti - Vice ChairProjects Management Director at the Capital Projects, Qatar Foundation
Rasha K. Al-Sulaiti is the Projects Management Director at the Capital Projects Directorate at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. In 2001, Rasha graduated with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from U.A.E University in Al-Ain. She was certified as an Associate Value Specialist from SAVE International in 2005. She has 10 years of experience managing projects at Qatar Foundation’s largest development: the Education City in Doha. In her capacity, Rasha has been managing more than 20 projects of various scales and typologies. Rasha is a member at Qatar Society of Engineers (QES) as well as an active member of the Architectural Engineering Chapter of QES. Now she is continuing her graduate studies with HEC Paris for the EMBA program. Rasha was one of the Founding members of both Qatar Value Engineering team as well as Qatar Green Building Council. She has developed great interest in Green Architecture through her involvement at Qatar Green Building Council as well as her work with green buildings at the Education City development.
Ibrahim Mohamed JaidahManaging Director, Arab Engineering Bureau
An alumnus of University Of Oklahoma, with a degree in Environmental Design (Architecture), Mr.Ibrahim Mohamed Jaidah has an illustrious career chart spanning 23 years. Beginning from the position of the Head of Architectural Section in the Ministry of Municipal Affairs to becoming the Managing Director and Owner of the Arab Engineering Bureau, a leading Architectural Consultancy firm, his name is synonymous with excellence.
Mr Ibrahim took over the firm in 1991 when it was only a small team of six employees engaged in Architectural Design and Supervision of projects. He shaped for AEB a new philosophy and direction and under his able leadership, the firm has developed into a multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering consultancy. AEB has an enviable portfolio consisting of more than 1,400 completed projects ranging from small-scale to multi-million mega projects in Qatar, the GCC and international locations, employing over 400 qualified professionals from 26 different countries and has expanded its branches in Abu Dhabi, Oman, Kuala Lumpur and Manila.
His efforts has been geared towards enhancing the architectural style of modern Qatar while preserving the essential elements of traditional Qatari Architecture and increasing the awareness of the importance of preserving the great architectural legacy of Qatar.
He has successfully authored and published a book titled “The History of Qatari Architecture” which is considered to be the first architecture reference in Qatar. In 2006 he was given the accolade of “State of Qatar Appreciation Award” by HH the Emir, for his contributions in creating memorable landmark structures that help shape the global image of Qatar. His extensive knowledge on the cultural heritage of Qatar has coveted him the Islamic Cities award, Arab Town Organization awards and he has been nominated for the Agha Khan award 3 times.
Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Barwa
Eng. Ahmad Al Abdulla heads the Barwa Real Estate as Group Deputy CEO overviewing the Management and Engineering functions for Barwa projects. He is fully responsible to develop the master plan, design and execute the infrastructure for all project developments – using cutting-edge technology in building sustainable infrastructures.
Al-Abdulla is a certified electrical engineer who brings with him 19 years of experience in the energy sector. He was previously employed as Chief Technical Officer at Tanween W.L.L., Deputy CEO of Energy City Qatar (ECQ), and as Technical Director of Kahrama where he gained substantial experience in the implementation of many major projects and more than 100 infrastructure projects around Qatar worth more than US$ 25 Billion. Al-Abdulla also has a vast amount of international work experience, including projects he planned, designed, and executed in Libya and India during his time at ECQ
Over the course of his career, Al-Abdulla has been actively engaged in volunteer work with science and engineering societies, regularly organizing and attending seminars, lectures, and conference. Possessing dedicated interest in engineering and the sustainable development of Qatar, he is also a Founding Member of both the Qatar Engineering Society and Qatar Green Building Council.
Eng. Ahmad Al Abdulla obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1990 from University of Miami, USA and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1992 from the George Washington University, DC USA.
Saif S Al NaimiDirector of HSE Regulations and Enforcement Directorate
A graduate of Qatar University in Chemical Engineering, Mr. Saif Al Naimi is responsible for regulating and enforcing compliance with the Health Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations as per the laws, convention, treaties and protocol in the energy and industry. As the Director of HSE Regulations and Enforcement, he liaises with the national, regional and international organizations with respect to conventions, treaties, protocols and agreements related to HSE issues and sustainable development . He is also responsible for developing synergies between local HSE regulations and international developments.
Mr. Saif has been with Qatar Petroleum, the state-owned company that oversees the oil and gas industry in Qatar, since 1991. During his tenure at Qatar Petroleum he has held various positions. Prior to his current role, he was Manager of the Corporate Quality and Management Systems and was responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Management Systems and its development throughout the Corporation.
Ahmad Jassim Al JoloChairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers
Eng. Ahmad Jassim Al Jolo is Chairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers and a Founding Member of the Qatar Green Building Council, American Architectural Engineering Institution and Gulf Engineering Forum. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Seattle University, USA since 1984. He is the former Chairman of Professional Engineers Committee at the Ministry of Municipality.
Eng. Ahmad has more than 27 years of experience in the construction sector, 25 of which were at managerial level. Closely involved in the field of education, Ahmad is a member of the Technical and Development committees at Texas A&M- Qatar and the Technical Committee for Civil Engineering at Qatar University. Not only that, he is also a key speaker at these universities and at various engineering conferences. Ahmad holds memberships with the American Society of Civil Engineers and American Structural Engineering Institution. He has been a judge for the MEED quality award for various projects. Ahmed received the Construction Week award for ‘Engineer of the Year’ earlier this year.
Jassim Mohammed Telefat,Treasurer, Board of Trustees, QGBC; Director, Technical Affairs, Capital Projects, Qatar Foundation
Eng. Jassim Telefat is the first Qatari Engineer to be an Accredited Professional in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP). He is part of the Group Founders of the Qatar Society of Engineers and also part of the Group Founders of Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC). He is now serving QGBC as Treasurer and is Director, Technical Affairs, Capital Projects, at Qatar Foundation. Jassim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University.
